How did you two meet/love story?

We met when we were in high school working at Hollister. We weren’t really friends at this time, but we were reconnected years later, after college. (I’m so tired and don’t think I can write this into an interesting love story because its so boring)… But we bonded over our desire to do adventurous things, like skydiving and exploring the city together. Brandon taught me to surf and shared my love for dogs and art.

Why did you choose the venue you did?

We ultimately chose North Shore Country Club after a long engagement and back and forth about what we really wanted and how we could make our families happy, because of it’s location and proximity to our house and the water. We could literally walk there from where we live. By keeping everything close (the church, the venue, our families), we felt we could create the intimate wedding we really wanted even though our guest count is pretty high with our large families.

The one thing I am most passionate about (and Brandon does share this passion, but I am crazier), is my love for bull terriers. So for our wedding favor we have chosen to make a donation to Blue Ridge Bull Terrier Rescue instead of wasting money on silly favors. But we are still giving guests cookies to take home (shaped like bull terrier faces). They are the silliest, weirdest, most affectionate creatures you will ever meet.

Any advice for other couples getting married?!

I would say to continually remind yourself why you are doing this, anytime you feel stressed. For me, I tell myself I just want to be with my best friend for the rest of my life, and all the small details and logistics aren’t all as important as they may feel while planning and approaching the big day.
