How did you two meet/love story?
We met back in 2009 through my oldest friend and maid of honor. We dated through high school but went. our own ways which lead to enlisting in the navy and going to college out of state. Life wasn’t all it was cracked up to be and so we rekindled our relationship a little while later. After spending our most of our relationship 3,000 miles away from each other. I moved to California in 2016 and proposed shortly after, and the rest is history.
Why did you choose the venue you did?
Practical and personal. Our family is in Largo and St Pete so we had to go with something in Pinellas County. I also wanted the ceremony and reception to be in the same place and we wanted the ceremony to be .outside I wanted something that was unique and represented us and our life. which was also not at the beach because sand isn’t romantic. We have a shared passion for history so ideally we wanted a historic place that would be beautiful. and require minimal decor. We also absolutely DID NOT want a typical ballroom and hotel patio wedding because they’re so boring and forgettable.
The Women’s Club was the last listed venue on The Knot and Wedding Wire with only a few photos available online, so it seemed offbeat. It’s on the national register. of historic places and it’s architecture really encapsulates the local history of the bayside bayou area of St Pete.
