Mallory+ Tanner, How’d ya meet?

We met back in 2001, when Mallory’s family moved onto Tanner’s street in Tampa. Our families had a history (Mallory’s mom and Tanner’s dad went to high school together). Over the years, Mallory and Tanner developed a long-lasting crush on one another, but the timing was always off; one of the two was either moving to the other side of the world or was in an exclusive relationship. As the saying goes, good things come to those who wait :). After eleven years, the timing was finally right for Tanner to take the plunge and ask Mallory on a date. The rest is history!

Why did you choose your venue?

Mallory has an obsession with historic hotels and buildings that have been transformed for new uses. Que the Oxford Exchange. Not only is it breathtaking in its design, but it used to serve as a stable house for the horse-drawn carriages that were used as the historic Tampa Hotel’s guest transportation. The Tampa Hotel, across the street from Oxford Exchange, now serves as the University of Tampa college campus.

Advice to other couples planning a wedding?

Keep everything in perspective and honor your heart’s desires. It is YOUR day, after all. Also keep in mind the sacrifices your guests have made to be there to witness your celebration and try to find ways to make them feel special, too 🙂
